Tracking “Work-from-Home” Employee Hours

March 24, 2020

With the spread of the novel coronavirus, many businesses are seeking to limit the number of people gathering in office locations. This has resulted in a dramatic uptick in employees who work from home (WFH). Employees who were used to punching a central time clock at work, are now working from home with no access to the time clock. This brief article will provide a couple options for tracking worked hours for remote employees.

Free Timecard Calculator
Our Free Timecard Calculator allows employees to enter their work hours for each day of the week and then automatically totals the hours in decimal hour format. Employees can print their timecard or use the print dialog to save the timecard as a PDF and then email to their manager.

Virtual TimeClock Network Edition
Network Edition users can take advantage of remote time clocks by utilizing a virtual private network (VPN) or setting up a port forward; learn more about how to setup remote clients. If your employees use remote desktop from home to connect to their work computer, check out our article covering remote desktop.
