It’s Faster & Easier to Use Virtual TimeClock 16

May 23, 2016

A group time clock with a long line of users is not uncommon in the workplace. That is why Virtual TimeClock Version 16 has made clocking in and out up to 50% faster for our "In & Out Board".

When users click on their name, they are now presented with a drop-down Action Menu that allows them to quickly start, stop, or change activities.

The user is automatically prompted if your time clock requires additional information like a password or activity selection. Either way, the process is incredibly intuitive and simple.  The user simply clicks their name, selects the desired action, and they are done. It’s that easy.

Selecting Open User Status... from the Action Menu opens the familiar User Status window where other features like timecards and messaging are available. If you want to limit your group time clock to punching in and out, there’s an option to remove the User Status selection from the Action Menu. (see instructions at the end of this article)

In addition, we’ve streamlined the User Status window to make it easier than ever to use. The Start and Stop buttons are still displayed at the bottom of the window, but the other occasional use features that you provide to users are all conveniently collected into a new Options Menu in the upper left corner of the window.

It’s faster and easier than ever to clock in & out. This is  just one of the many new features we’ve added for you in Virtual TimeClock 16.

Quick Tips:

How to remove User Status from the Action Menu:

  • Select Turn Administration On... from the File menu.
  • Select Display Groups... from the Configure Menu
  • Uncheck 'User Status' in menu in the In/Out Board Options pane at the bottom right of the window. (If you do not see the In/Out Board Options pane, double check that the Group Interface is set to In/Out Board.)
  • Click Apply to save the changes.

If you prefer the traditional User Status window to the new Action Menu, here is how you can switch back:

  • Select Turn Administration On... from the File menu.
  • Select Display Groups... from the Configure Menu
  • Select Action Menu in the Selection drop down menu, located in the In/Out Board Options pane. (If you do not see the In/Out Board Options pane, double check that the Group Interface is set to In/Out Board.)
  • Click Apply to save the changes.
