Kronos Ransomware Attack – TimeClock Alternatives

December 16, 2021

On December 11th, 2021, UKG/Kronos announced a ransomware incident that has disrupted their UKG Kronos Private Cloud for a limited number of customers. These customers relying on Kronos timeclock are currently unable to track employee time.

Kronos has provided a support page dedicated to keep customers updated on this cybersecurity incident. We sympathize with Kronos and condemn ransomware attacks. This type of criminal activity negatively impacts all of us.

With limited guidance on the duration of the Kronos outage, we are receiving calls asking about Virtual TimeClock as a secure alternative to Kronos Cloud for employee time tracking. Our Virtual TimeClock software is immune to cloud-based attacks because the program and your data are stored and run locally on your computers. You can learn more about the advantages of Local versus Cloud-based timeclock software here.

If you are interested in Virtual TimeClock, download a full-featured free trial here. We have a California-based Support team ready to help you get setup right away. We also have a free Timecard Calculator if you are an employee wanting to manually calculate your timecard hours. Whether you are looking for a temporary solution or a permanent replacement for your previous TimeClock, we are here to help.
