Holidays in June 2022

May 31, 2022

Nearly a year ago, President Biden signed into law Juneteenth as a federal holiday. Juneteenth has been celebrated for over 150 years in some areas but was not federally recognized until 2021. Traditionally, this holiday is celebrated on June 19th. However, this year is slightly unique because the 19th falls on a Sunday. In 2022, Juneteenth will be observed on June 20th, the following Monday.

Federal employees and most banks will take June 20th, 2022 off as a holiday, while many private sector businesses remain open. See our Federal Holiday Calendar resource page for more information on federal holidays in 2022.
