Virtual TimeClock Clients set to 'Open at Login' may fail to connect to the TimeClock Server when launched automatically during user login. This issue can occur after updating to macOS 15 Sequoia.
Why It Happens
Apple made changes to the login process in macOS Sequoia that can delay the availability of network services. As a result, Virtual TimeClock may try to connect to the server before the network is fully ready.
The Fix
This issue is resolved in Virtual TimeClock 24 Release 2, released on April 8, 2025. It's a free update for all registered Virtual TimeClock 24 users.
Workarounds for Older Versions
If you're using a version of Virtual TimeClock earlier than 24.2 on macOS Sequoia, you can disable 'Open at Login' for Virtual TimeClock and launch the program after logging in.
Note: If connecting manually after a failed connection, you may need to manually select the proper display group. In addition, administrative users will not automatically reconnect in admin mode.
