Turning On Time Clock Administration

November 7, 2012

In order to access the administrative functions of Virtual TimeClock, both managers and time clock administrators need to enable administration mode. Administration mode allows managers and administrators to modify timecards, add entries, view reports and make changes to the time clock system. This article will explain administration mode in detail.

Note: Network Edition users will need to use a Pro Client to access administrative features.

Enabling Administration Mode

If you've been assigned as a time clock manager or administrator, use your unique password during the steps below.

  1. Select Turn Administration On from the File menu.
  2. Choose your name from the pop up menu and enter your password.

With Administration Mode enabled, managers will have limited access make changes for the employees they manage, while administrators have full access to all users and all settings. For more information about managers and administrators, see the Overview of Users, Managers and Administrators article. Remember to turn admin mode off when you're all done so your time clock security won't be compromised.

Disabling Administration Security

In certain rare situations, you may want to disable password protection for administrative mode. This can be accomplished in administration mode by selecting Security from the Configure menu and unchecking the box for Password is required to turn on Administration.
