Manage Staff Communication with Virtual TimeClock 25

November 13, 2025

This post is part of a series about new features in Virtual TimeClock 25.

Virtual TimeClock 25 introduces flexible new messaging permissions that give you complete control over how employees communicate. Whether you want to enable open collaboration, keep communication limited to managers, or use messaging purely for company announcements, the new controls make it easy to configure messaging to fit your workplace.

Set Clear Communication Boundaries

Each display group now includes detailed messaging options that let you decide who can send and receive messages:

  • Limit messaging to managers or administrators - Allow staff to contact their supervisors without enabling employee-to-employee messaging.
  • Restrict messages by display group - Keep communication organized by location, department, or floor—ideal for larger businesses with multiple teams.
  • Turn off user-to-user messaging entirely - Use the time clock as a one-way announcement system for administrators or managers to share updates, schedules, or company notices.

These controls ensure that messaging stays relevant, professional, and appropriate for your organization’s communication style.

Configure Permissions Your Way

With new messaging permissions, you have control over how open or structured your communication is. By customizing these settings to fit your needs, you can minimize off-topic discussions, maintain productivity, and ensure important messages reach the right people.
