When is Washington’s Birthday in 2026?

Presidents’ Day, officially known as Washington’s Birthday, is the only federal holiday observed in February. In 2026, Presidents’ Day falls on Monday, February 16.

This year, George Washingtons birthday (Presidents' Day) is on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Although commonly called Presidents’ Day, the federal holiday honors George Washington, the first President of the United States. Over time, many states and organizations have expanded the observance to recognize other U.S. presidents as well, including Abraham Lincoln, whose birthday is also in February. Presidents’ Day is always observed on the third Monday of February, following the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968.
