Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day is the only holiday in May and will be observed on Monday, May 31st this year. Since the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 was passed by Congress in 1967, Memorial Day always lands on the last Monday in May and is recognized as both a federal and a business holiday.  This means most banks, schools, state and federal offices will be closed.  Many private sector businesses will also close to observe the holiday.

For many Americans, this is a special holiday due to the loss of a loved one during a time of war.  All of us owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who paid the ultimate price to secure and preserve our freedom.
