November 2025 Federal Holidays

November 2025 brings two major federal holidays — Veterans Day and Thanksgiving — that impact workplaces across the country. Planning ahead helps business owners manage employee schedules, payroll deadlines, and customer service during the busy holiday season.

Veterans Day - Tuesday, November 11, 2025

Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, honors the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. On this federal holiday, most banks, schools, and state and federal offices will be closed. Some private sector businesses may be closed or have modified hours of operation.

 

Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 27, 2025

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a time for gathering with family and friends, enjoying a turkey dinner, and giving thanks to God for our blessings. As a federal holiday, most banks, schools, and state and federal offices will be closed. Most private sector businesses not in the service industry will also be closed. Many of these organizations will also be closed on the Friday following Thanksgiving Day.

 

What These Holidays Mean for Businesses

For many businesses, federal holidays can affect daily operations, from employee scheduling to payroll and customer communications. This impacts staffing, operations, and payroll. Many businesses will be affected in the following areas:

  • Employee Schedules: Adjusting work schedules for the holiday.

Redcort Software will be open during normal business hours on Veterans Day, November 11th.
 
Our offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will resume normal business hours at 8 AM on Monday, December 1.
