Veterans Day is a federal holiday that is usually observed on November 11. Since the 11th falls on a Saturday this year, Veterans Day will be observed on Friday, November 10, 2023.

Veterans Day is recognized by the closure of most federal and state offices, banks, and schools. Most private sector businesses maintain normal operating hours on Veterans Day. Due to reduced staffing, some businesses will be closed or have modified hours of operation on Friday, November 10. History of Veterans Day
Veterans Day celebrates the men and women who have served in any capacity in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday was originally known as Armistice Day to mark the official end of WWI. While it is still recognized as Armistice Day in different parts of the world, it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all United States veterans.
