Assigning User Permissions

Time clock users can be assigned to one of three different access levels.

Time clock administrators are at the top of the tier and have unlimited access to everything within the time clock. Program administrators are assigned in Configure Users. Administrators can turn on the administrative features by choosing Turn Administration On from the File menu, selecting their name, and entering their password. You can have more than one time clock administrator.

Time clock managers occupy the middle tier and their access can be customized by display group. By default, managers can view timecards for users within their group, edit timecards for users in their group, and add manual and leave entries for users in their group. Managers can be assigned in two different places. The first way to assign a manager is by going to Configure Users and clicking Groups.

The second place is in Configure Display Groups. This is also where manager actions and access to program functions can be set. Managers can turn on the administrative features by choosing Turn Administration On from the File menu, selecting their name, and entering their password. Users can be assigned as a manager to more than one display group.

All other employees are simply time clock users. By default, time clock users can clock themselves in & out and view their own timecards. You can change what actions and program features users can access by going to Configure Display Groups.
