Manager Restrictions

Some time clock administrators like to give managers the ability to edit timecards for employees within their Display Group, but not allow the managers to edit their own punch times. They're looking for the same level of accountability that they expect from their regular employees. The manager access settings within Virtual TimeClock are certainly flexible enough to accommodate this scenario. First, you'll want to create a new Display Group and add all of the employees being supervised by the manager into the group, but do not add the manager as a member of the group. Next, you'll want to add the user who manages the group as a manager.

In the following example, you'll see that David Jefferies is a manager of the DJ Manager Display Group but not a member. So now when David turns on administration, he'll be able to edit timecards for members in his group but not for himself.
