Understanding Network Edition Licensing

June 10, 2014

The Virtual TimeClock Network Edition is a client-server software based time and attendance system that runs on your computer network, even between business locations via an Internet connection. To use the Network Edition, you'll need to download and install:

  • The TimeClock Server program. This is what centralizes all the time clock data and settings. The TimeClock Server program gets installed on only one computer on the network and does not have a time clock interface. All of the Network Edition packages include the server license.
  • One or more Pro Client or User Clients. You will need a client license for each computer where the time clock is going to be used. This may be a computer where workers punch in & out, a supervisor's computer who will use the time clock for viewing the current status of their workers, or an administrator's computer who needs the time clock for printing reports and managing employee timecards. The Pro Client has administrative features, the User Client does not.

Special Network Edition Licenses
A Site License consists of 1 TimeClock Server and an unlimited number of client computers at a single (1) business location. An Enterprise License consists of 1 TimeClock Server and an unlimited number of client computers at multiple locations. Please contact us for custom enterprise pricing if you need unlimited computers at multiple locations.
