Virtual TimeClock Tips & Tricks - December 2013

Happy holidays from all of us at Redcort Software. We know this is a busy time of year and it's easy to let small things slip through the cracks in the rush of trying to get everything done. Make sure your time clock is ready for the new year by asking yourself these three simple questions.

Have you considered payroll integration?
Integrating Virtual TimeClock with your payroll provider will save you time because you won’t have to rekey employee hours into a second system and it'll eliminate mistakes because there’s little risk of making data entry errors. If you've ever thought about going with a payroll service or switching payroll providers, this is the month to start the process. Visit our website for detailed instructions on integration with many popular payroll programs.
Here's a quick Tip:
SurePayroll®1 has offered Virtual TimeClock customers discounted payroll processing at $69.99 a month for up to 10 employees. This includes all the bells & whistles like direct deposit and tax management. Only $1.99 for any additional employees. Visit them online for details.

Do you need to update your employee leave awards?
If your leave accrual is based on the calendar year, then now's the time to carry over unused leave balances. Don't forget that your staff can check their own remaining leave balances whenever they like by running the Accrued and Used Leave report. If you're not using Virtual TimeClock to track employee leave benefits, then the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to start. Managing vacation and PTO benefits is a snap because the time clock does all the work for you.

Are you backing up your time clock data?
Backing up your time clock data is so easy it would be a shame to get caught in a major payroll hassle by not being prepared. Especially since Virtual TimeClock has a built-in backup utility that's easy to schedule.
Here's a quick Tip:
Dropbox is a great solution for storing a copy of your time clock data off site, so even if your computer crashes your data will be safe. Sign up for your free account.

There you have it, three easy ways to make sure you're making the most of your time clock software in the new year. All of us at Redcort Software hope you have a joyful Christmas and a wonderful New Year’s celebration. Thank you for being our customer and entrusting us with your employee time and attendance this past year.
