Is Your Time Clock Slowing Down?

February 27, 2014

There's a setting within Virtual TimeClock that causes the time to be polled from a random selection of government, military, and educational sources rather than a local computer clock. We've had some recent reports of time clocks running slow when launching or clocking in and out. We suspect the time clock is attempting to poll one of these Internet time servers that is temporarily offline. The good news is that there's a quick and easy fix. Turn on administration and go to Configure, then Time & Rounding. You'll need to change the timestamp source from using an Internet time server to using the computer clock if you're running a stand alone time clock like Basic or Pro, or the TimeClock Server clock if you're using the Network Edition. Now just quit and relaunch your time clock. You should see dramatic improvement.

This issue has been completely resolved in the new Virtual TimeClock 14 release.
